Word Abides (wordabides.com) is a free Bible reading and study website. It is a personal project built to make Scripture freely accessible to anyone with an internet connection.
We collect very little information. Here is a complete list of what is collected:
- Google Analytics data — when you visit our site, Google Analytics records anonymous information such as which country you are from, which pages you visited, and what type of device you used. This data does not identify you personally.
- Contact form submissions — if you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message. This is sent directly to our inbox and is used only to respond to you.
- Reading plan progress — if you use the Bible reading plans, your progress is saved in your own browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device and we cannot see it.
We do not collect passwords, payment information, location data, or any other personal information.
The anonymous analytics data helps us understand how many people use the site and which features are most helpful. This helps us improve the site over time.
Contact form information is used only to reply to your message. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your details with anyone.
We use the following third party services to operate this website:

- API.Bible (American Bible Society) — to serve Bible text. No personal data is shared with them.

This site uses cookies only through Google Analytics. These are anonymous tracking cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site. They do not identify you personally.

Since we do not store personal data on our servers, there is very little to request or delete. However if you have submitted a contact form message and would like it removed, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Word Abides is a Bible reading site suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13.
